Dans un futur proche, les personnes célibataires sont envoyées à l'Hôtel, où elles bénéficient de 45 jours pour trouver l’amour. Passé ce délai, elles sont transformées en l’animal de leur choix. Quitté par sa femme après 11 ans de relation, David échappe à son destin en rejoignant les Solitaires, un groupe de résistants vivant dans les bois.
