Michel Mortez reist in Frankreich hin und her, um ein von ihm vor 25 Jahren entwickeltes Hörspiel zu moderieren. Rivetot, sein Assistent und Techniker, begleitet ihn immer. Er ist der Einzige, der weiß, was sich hinter Mortez' Auftreten als verspielter Don Juan verbirgt. Als das Programm von den Managern abgelehnt wird, zögert Rivetot den Zeitpunkt, an dem er Mortez davon in Kenntnis setzen muss, so lange wie möglich hinaus...
