Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts heiratet die junge Frau Cynthia, Dr. Hichcock und zieht mit ihm in seine Londoner Villa. Von der ersten Nacht an ist die junge Frau Opfer seltsamer Erscheinungen und entdeckt den leeren Sarg der ersten Frau des Arztes, die unter mysteriösen Umständen gestorben war.
