Marie Losier
French director, born in 1972.
After studying literature and art in New York, Marie Losier directed numerous intimate, poetic, and playful portraits of filmmakers, musicians, and artists such as Alan Vega and the Kuchar brothers. Her interest in artists continued in her first feature film, The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye, about musician and artist Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, his partner Lady Jaye, and their love story. Presented in Berlin in 2011, the film won the Teddy Award. In 2018, wrestler Cassandro the Exotico inspired her to make a documentary, still imbued with her signature poetic touch. At the same time, Losier followed queer and feminist icon Peaches for more than 15 years, resulting in the intimate and rock ‘n’ roll Peaches Goes Banana (2025).
