• Ildikó Enyedi, Hungarian director born in Budapest in 1955.

  Ildikó Enyedi is a Hungarian director and scriptwriter renowned for her poetic and introspective cinema. Revealed in 1989 by My Twentieth Century, which won a Caméra d’or at Cannes, she develops a rare but striking oeuvre, combining realism, fantasy and exploration of the human soul. In 2017, she made a noteworthy comeback with On Body and Soul, Golden Lion at the Berlinale and nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Film. A major figure of European auteur cinema, Enyedi combines visual sensibility and existential depth.
