Jackie Scanlon, un escroc New Yorkais, Victor Manzon un banquier parisien, et Kassem un terroriste Palestinien, ayant pour seul point commun de vouloir échapper aux exactions qu’ils ont commises dans leur pays respectif, se retrouvent au cœur de la jungle sud américaine. Ils travaillent désormais comme ouvriers dans une compagnie pétrolière. Après un incendie survenu dans l’usine, les dirigeants de la compagnie leur proposent de transporter par camion un stock de nitroglycérine à travers un parcours accidenté. Accompagnés d’un tueur, Nilo, les trois hommes se retrouvent engagés dans un périple qui va les mener aux confins de l’enfer vert.
Note : Le Convoi de la peur est un remake du film Le Salaire de la peur, réalisé par Henri George Clouzot en 1951.
