Brignon, ein brutaler und mächtiger alter Mann, lädt die Sängerin Jenny Lamour in sein Haus ein. Die ehrgeizige Frau geht, ohne ihren krankhaft eifersüchtigen Mann Maurice zu informieren. Doch der misstrauische Ehemann kommt ihr auf die Spur und geht ebenfalls zu Brignons Haus. Als kurz darauf die Leiche des alten Mannes auftaucht, wird Kommissar Antoine mit der Untersuchung beauftragt.
