Im Jahr 1793 - Während in Paris der Terror regiert, beschließt Georges Danton in die Hauptstadt zurückzukehren. Er wird sich bemühen, die Politik seines ehemaligen Mitstreiters Maximilien Robespierre anzuprangern.
