Blessée lors d’une corrida, Lydia sombre dans le coma, laissant son amant Marco dans un profond désarroi. A la clinique, celui-ci fait la connaissance de Benigno, un infirmier amoureux d’une danseuse elle aussi dans le coma. Entre les deux hommes va alors naître un amitié bientôt tourmentée.
