Elle se retrouve poursuivie dans Paris par les anciens complices de son mari, persuadés qu’elle possède une mallette pleine de diamants, et deux hommes qui cherchent à percer le mystère de sa véritable identité...
Note : Le film est un hommage à Tirez sur le pianiste (1960) de François Truffaut ; deux films dans lesquels apparaît Charles Aznavour interprétant son titre "Quand tu m'aimes", d’abord en français puis en anglais. Par ailleurs, La Vérité sur Charlie est un remake du film Charade (1963).
