H.I. cambriole des supermarchés, un collant chair vissé sur la tête, jusqu’au jour où il est arrêté par la police. A son arrivée au poste, il tombe fou amoureux d’une policière nommée Ed. Lorsqu'il sort de prison, les deux tourtereaux se marient et décident de mener une vie rangée et de fonder une famille. Mais le rêve de maternité d’Ed se brise lorsqu’elle apprend qu’elle est stérile. H.I. a alors l’idée de voler une paire de bambins à un couple qui vient d’avoir des quintuplés.
