Steve est musicien et amoureux d’une professeure de natation. L’impresario de ce dernier tente de les séparer pour protéger la créativité de l’artiste en disant à Caroline que le musicien est déjà marié. Caroline part enseigner dans un collège de filles. Steve s'inscrit à son cours pour la retrouver. La vie de l’artiste devient alors l’inspiration de son nouveau spectacle…
