Monsieur Beiji, soixante et un ans, employé d’un chantier naval où il ne se plaît guère, se retrouve au chômage. Divorcé et père d’une famille aux rapports parfois compliqués, il tente de retrouver goût à la vie en ouvrant un restaurant. Le projet se heurte à de multiples difficultés, notamment financières, mais permet à la famille de se réunir dans l’espoir d’une vie meilleure…
