A young couple, Bun-tik and Kui-ki, are in love but their parents are determined to control their destinies. When the couple try to meet, Bun-tik's widowed father A-kau intervenes, but Kui-ki begs him and he agrees to a marriage. However, when he realizes Kui-ki's mother is the woman who abandoned him years before, he refuses the marriage. Bun-tik and Kui-ki elope together, but life alone proves cruel and they begin to miss their homes.
