In Alaska ist das Goldfieber ausgebrochen. Auch der Tramp Charlie sucht nach Reichtum und Glück. Aber das Leben als Goldgräber ist unerbittlich und gefahrvoll. Zu allem Unglück verliebt sich Charlie auch noch in die attraktive Saloontänzerin Georgia, die seine Avancen jedoch ins Lächerliche zieht.
