Oblomov, riche et oisif propriétaire terrien installé à Saint-Pétersbourg, gère son domaine depuis son canapé. Un jour, son serviteur lui annonce que ses revenus vont drastiquement diminuer et qu’il doit quitter son logement sous huit jours. Oblomov ne rêve alors plus que de son village d’enfance.
