At the peak of his power, Fantômas sets up a system to tax the rich for the right to stay alive. His taxpayers congregate in a Scottish castle to lay a trap for Fantômas. But this quick-change artist - now gangster, now lord - is so clever that inspector Juve, Fandor and Hélène can't figure out who's who. The hanged come un-hanged, the dead come alive, fake ghosts do a disappearing act. A tale where fun spooks the phantoms.
