Au cours des violents conflits qui opposent les États-Unis au Mexique, un sanglant malentendu fait du lâche capitaine John Boyd un véritable héros. Loin d’être dupe, son supérieur l’envoie dans un endroit reculé et enneigé en compagnie de personnages singuliers.
