Pour échapper à la prison, Randle McMurphy se fait interner dans un hôpital psychiatrique. Mais c’est le choc lorsqu’il découvre les conditions de vie des patients qui sont sur-médicamentés, lobotomisés, déshumanisés… Randle décide alors de changer les choses et se fait chef de l’insurrection. Mais le système le rattrape bientôt sous les traits de l’infirmière en chef, miss Ratched.
Note : Vol au-dessus d’un nid de coucou est l’adaptation du roman éponyme de Ken Kesey paru en 1962.
