Dans une petite ville du Texas à la frontière mexicaine, les adolescents ne pensent qu’à l’alcool et au sexe. Les vies malheureuses de leurs parents ne valent guère mieux. En effet, Duane Jackson est à la tête d’une entreprise pétrolière qui lui assure prospérité, mais il paye les frais d’un mariage raté. De son côté, Sonny Crawford est accablé par la mélancolie. Alors que les deux hommes ne pensent qu’à s’échapper de cette misérable ville, leur amour de jeunesse, Jacy Farrow, réapparaît…
Notes : Texasville reprend les mêmes personnages (et les mêmes acteurs principaux) que La Dernière séance (1971), en racontant ce qu’ils sont devenus plus de trente après.
