Yumiko hat ihren Mann Hiroshi verloren, angefahren von einem Auto. Sie ist mit ihrem ersten Kind schwanger und versucht, sich von dieser Tragödie zu erholen. Shiro Mishima, der Mann, der für den Unfall verantwortlich ist, versucht verzweifelt, der jungen Frau zu helfen, indem er ihr eine Rente gibt und mit ihr in Kontakt bleibt.
