In einer Stadt der Zukunft sind nahezu alle Krankheiten besiegt, und der Tod kommt kaum noch vor. Da entwickeln Medien-Magnaten die zynische Idee, dieses rare Ereignis live im Fernsehen erlebbar zu machen. Der Reporter Roddy, an dessen Sehnerven eine Miniaturkamera angeschlossen ist, soll die schwerkranke Katherine auf Schritt und Tritt begleiten. Deren Todesangst treibt die Einschaltquoten in die Höhe. Doch Roddy verliebt sich in Katherine...
