Béla Molnar s’est rebaptisé Willie en arrivant à New York il y a dix ans, faisant une croix sur son identité hongroise. Un jour, il se voit contraint d’héberger sa cousine Eva, fraîchement arrivée aux Etats-Unis. Willie se montre d’abord irrité avant de finir par la prendre sous son aile. Avec un ami, Eddie, tous trois partent sillonner Cleveland et la Floride.

Note : Ce premier film du cinéaste a reçu la Caméra d’or à La Quinzaine des Réalisateurs en 1984.
