Cinq ans après un grave accident de voiture, Johnny Smith sort du coma. Son ancienne vie s’est effondrée : sa fiancée est mariée, sa carrière envolée. Mais il découvre un étrange pouvoir : en touchant quelqu’un, il entrevoit son passé ou son avenir. Très vite, ce don de voyance devient un fardeau, le plaçant face à des choix moraux impossibles.
