An einem Winterabend geht Sadako, eine verheiratete Frau, nach Hause als sie bemerkt, dass sie von einem Unbekannten verfolgt wird. Der Mann dringt mit Gewalt ins Haus ein und vergewaltigt sie. Sadako beschließt zu schweigen und erzählt ihrem Mann, Koichi, nichts davon. Einige Tage später kommt ihr Angreifer, Hiraoka, wieder und erklärt ihr, dass er eine Herzkrankheit hat und ihm nur noch einige Tage zu leben bleiben. Gegen alle Erwartungen fangen sie eine leidenschaftliche Beziehung an, die dem verhängnisvollen Ausgang nicht entkommen wird…
