Seit dem Tod seiner Frau ist Cahit deprimiert und ertränkt seinen Kummer in Alkohol. Nach einem Selbstmordversuch im Krankenhaus sympathisiert er mit einer jungen Muslimin, die versucht, dem Druck ihrer religiösen Familie zu entkommen. Um ihr zu helfen, beschließt Cahit, Sibel zu heiraten und gewinnt allmählich die Lust am Leben zurück.
