Afin de soulager son épouse, Dong-sik accepte d’accueillir une servante recommandée par une jeune ouvrière à qui il donne des cours de piano. Possédant un comportement ambigu, la nouvelle venue s’amuse à espionner les conversations ou à effrayer les enfants. Lorsqu’elle entame une liaison avec Dong-sik, le foyer tombe lentement sous l’emprise de la servante.
