Bruno Podalydès

  • French actor and director, born in Boulogne-Billancourt in 1961.

    Bruno Podalydès began his career making company films for Air France. In 1992 he staged the famous A Night in Versailles, which won him Best Short Film at the César Awards. He also acts – with his brother Denis – in all of his films. His first feature film, Only God Sees Me was released in1998, followed by Liberté-Oléron (2001). He then adapted two novels by Gaston Leroux: The Mystery of the Yellow Room (2003) and The Perfume of the Lady in Black (2005). He closed his Versailles trilogy in 2009 with Park Benches. In 2012, Granny’s Funeral was showcased at the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes. After The Sweet Escape (2015), his latest film The Two Alfreds will be released in 2021.
