Lynne Ramsay
British director, born in Glasgow.
Graduated from the National Film and Television School in 1995. Her graduation film Small Deaths r
eceived the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival 1996. Kill the day won Prix du Jury at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in 1997. With Gasman, she won a second Jury Prize at Cannes in 1998. Her first feature Ratcatcher debuted in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes in 1999 and received numerous prizes all over the world. Morvern Callar also distinguished itself namely with the C.I.C.A.E Award and the Prix de la Jeunesse in Cannes in 2002. In 2011, she adapted We need to talk about Kevin from the novel by Lionel Shriver and won Best film at the London Film Festival and Best Director at the British Independent Film Awards.
