Emmanuel Mouret
Emmanuel Mouret, French director and actor born in Marseille in 1970.
After classes in theatre arts, Emmanuel Mouret studied film directing at the Fémis, graduating in 1998. From his earliest short films, he created a gentle and awkward character for himself, whom he played in several of his films. Throughout his filmography, Mouret has worked on the variations and contradictions of the amorous sentiment, borrowing by turns from the codes of romantic comedy (Shall We Kiss?, 2007; Caprice, 2014), the choral film (The Art of Love, 2011), drama (Another Life, 2013), or historical adaptation (Lady J, 2018). In 2021, The Things We Say, The Things We Do won the Prix Lumière for Best Film, while Three Friends (starring India Hair, Camille Cottin and Sara Forestier) was in official competition at the Venice Mostra in 2024.
