Marcel works as assistant to a jeweller whose bossy daughter Ren&eacute;e keeps hitting on him. Paul Braconnier is going through living hell with his wife, an alcoholic shrew. They are both trying to do away with each other. Paul goes to see a famous lawyer, who unwittingly tells him how to commit the crime. So Paul goes on, kills his wife and gives himself up to the police. Toni, an immigrant worker, becomes his landlady&#x27;s lover and marries her. Except he is not in love with Marie but with Josepha who has been made to marry a cruel foreman.
