Noémie Lvovsky

  • French actress and director, born in Paris 1964.

    After studying literature, Noémie Lvovsky became part of the scriptwriting class at La Fémis in 1986. She made a prizewinning short film in her final year, Dis-moi oui, dis-moi non, with Valéria Bruni-Tedeschi and Emmanuelle Devos. When she finished her studies, she collaborated on two films with Arnaud Desplechin – as co-scriptwriter and casting director – before making her first feature film, Forget Me. In 1997, she made a telefilm for Arte, Les Années lycée: Petites [Little Girls], about a group of young teenage girls in the 1970s, which was later expanded into the film Life Doesn’t Scare Me (Jean Vigo Prize, 1999). In 2001, she began her career as an actress while continuing to direct. Her films are tremendously successful with critics and audiences (Feelings, Let’s Dance, Camille Rewinds).
